How can Racial Lables Offend People

From my studies I have found one way racial labels offend people is by using the labels, Black, African American, Hispanic, Latino and White, Caucasian. What some people fail to realize is that not all people want to be seen as Black, or White etc. Most people just want to be identified as human.

Reason #2: Race isn't real!

Another way racial labels can offend others according to Chuck Gallozzi article Labeling People "The problem with labels is they are merely shells that contain assumptions. When we are taken in by a label, we are taken in by opinions and beliefs. That is, we willingly accept statements without evidence of their validity. The assumptions become stereotypes, which soon become put-downs. Before you know it, we are engaged in name-calling or verbal abuse."

Reason #3: Equality vs. Equity

Even though people may disagree with "Race isn't real" or "Racial Labels is a bad thing" i can actually see why people think that because of all the benefits you have for being a minority when it comes to college. And being a white male when it come to being an CEO of a major company.
